UK Health and Care Visa for those medical professionals who want to come to the UK and do their eligible healthcare job. The government is extending the UK’s Healthcare Visa for international healthcare professionals, so they can continue to work in the NHS.
For the past ten years, the Home Office has been processing the application and issuing the visa within six months. After the coronavirus pandemic hit the UK in the summer of 2019, the Home Office has made the process more complex and slower-moving.
Some medical workers, healthcare professionals, and their families will have their visas extended for free in the UK, because of COVID-19. They will also have their immigration status updated in the UK.
